Why We Love It

'Sweet Wonder' as its name implies produces masses of sweet-smelling small roses in a wonderful deep apricot shade.

This compact charming little bush normally grows no bigger than approximately 50 cm to 60 cm – making it perfect for embellishing a patio balcony or smaller garden.

It also creates a pretty display if planted towards the front of a mixed border or flower bed in full sun.

This repeat-flowering rose has a long blooming season (from May to September) so remember to keep deadheading the older blossoms to stimulate growth.

The distinctive pinky-orange double flowers look lovely against the glossy mid-green foliage.

Plant the 'Sweet Wonder' rose in a spot where you'll enjoy its delicate fragrance such as near the sitting area on your patio or underneath a window.

The decorative pot is sold separately.

How to Plant

'Sweet Wonder' grows happily in full sun, and although it's called a patio rose, you can still plant it in a flower bed or in a border. It will thrive in most soils, provided that the type you choose is moist and drains well.

Into the Ground

Choose a position in full sun for your 'Sweet Wonder'. You'll need a spade, a fork, soil improver, mycorrhizal fungi and a general-purpose fertiliser.

  1. Soak the rose bush roots in its pot.
  2. Dig a hole in the soil that's roughly twice the size of the rootball.
  3. Break up the soil at the base of the hole, adding the soil improver.
  4. Place the plant in the hole and backfill it with soil.
  5. Top dress with the fertiliser and fungi.
  6. Water your rose well.

Into a Pot

Select a sunny spot on your patio or balcony to position your rose. Make sure you choose a pot with good drainage for it. You'll also need a spade, a material that can act as drainage, a mix of multi-purpose and potting compost and mycorrhizal fungi.

  1. Soak the rose bush roots.
  2. Place polystyrene pieces or pot shards into the base of the planter.
  3. Cover with a shallow layer of the mixed composts.
  4. Place the rose in the container, then fill it with more compost.
  5. Top dress with mycorrhizal fungi.
  6. Water your rose thoroughly.
