Why We Love It

This fern is pale green in spring and gradually turns grey-green over time.

It has a purple stalk, veins and arching fronds that radiate out into a rosette.

How to Plant

This plant prefers to grow in full or partial shade. Choose well-draining soil that's sand, loam or clay-based of any pH level and keep this moist.

Into the Ground
  1. Choose a spot for planting in the shade.
  2. Dig a hole double the size of the rootball.
  3. Take the plant out of its pot and pop it in the hole.
  4. Add compost around the base to firm it up.
  5. Pat the soil down a little and give it a good water.
Into a Pot
  1. Fill your pot with compost.
  2. Dig a hole approximately double the size of the rootball.
  3. Take your plant out of its container and place it in the hole.
  4. Return some compost around the base and pat this down gently.
  5. Give your plant a generous water and leave it in the shade.
