Why We Love It

The delicate peachy-apricot fragrant blooms of the 'Sweet Dream' rose glow against its dense deep green leaves.

The cupped roses are full-petalled and pretty with a lovely light scent.

They retain their beautiful hue through the season while the bush itself is fully hardy compact and neat.

It's fast-growing too reaching a height and spread approximately between 35 cm and 50 cm.

Because it's such a small plant 'Sweet Dream' is perfect for your patio but you can also grow it in the ground towards the front of a border.

Keep deadheading the older blossoms and picking the stems to encourage this repeat-flowering rose to continue to bloom from July until September.

The decorative pot is sold separately.

How to Plant

'Sweet Dream' needs a position in full sun, and even though it's called a patio rose, it can still be planted in the ground. It's not fussy about the type of soil used, provided it's moist and drains well.

Into the Ground

You don't need a large flower bed for this dwarf rose bush. Just find that nice, sunny spot for it. Then get your spade, your fork, soil improver, mycorrhizal fungi and general-purpose fertiliser.

  1. Soak 'Sweet Dream' roots in its temporary pot.
  2. Dig a hole in the soil, making sure it's about twice the size of the rootball.
  3. Break up the soil at the base of the hole and add the soil improver.
  4. Place the rose into the hole and backfill it with soil.
  5. Use the fertiliser and fungi to top dress the soil.
  6. Water well.

Into a Pot

Pick a sheltered place in full sun, and use a patio pot with plenty of drainage. You'll need a spade, a material that can act as drainage, a mix of multi-purpose and potting compost and mycorrhizal fungi.

  1. Soak the rose bush roots in its temporary pot.
  2. Pop some polystyrene pieces or pot shards in the base of the container.
  3. Cover this with a shallow layer of the compost mix.
  4. Place the rose in the pot and backfill it with more compost.
  5. Top dress with the mycorrhizal fungi.
  6. Water thoroughly.
