Philodendron 'White Knight'

Say hello to our super-rare Philodendron - it's a tiny slice of the Palm House for even the smallest space.

More sought after than Harry Styles in this season’s Gucci, 'White Knight' is a variegated Philodendron with unique white stripes across its leaves.

Each plant is totally different from the next, so don't worry if yours hasn't got many white stripes when you get it; the variegation becomes more pronounced if exposed to bright light.

And even better… It's very easy to grow.

Though the Philodendrons in the Palm House can reach up to 6m, our 'White Knight' is just 45cm on arrival and will only grow to about 1m tall.

Make it climb...

Provide a central mossy pole, and you’ll be able to train your Philodendron to climb up it.

Camouflage...

Those variegated leaves come from the modern Philodendron’s distant cousin. Growing on the forest floor, the white flecked leaves acted as ‘camouflage’ from hungry herbivores.

• Current height: 45 cm, current spread: 30 cm
• You wont need to 'plant' this houseplant. Leave the plant in its nursery pot, and put the whole thing into a decorative pot to create "the look"
• It likes bright, indirect light, although it can handle a slightly more shady spot
• 'White Knight' doesn't like being cold (who does!?), and will shut up shop if the temperature falls to less than 12C
