Why We Love It

Few flowers will enliven an outdoor space quite like the 'Olympic Flame' rose with its striking fiery petals.

The exuberant red and lightly fragranced flowers blossom from early summer into autumn complemented by glossy green leaves.

As a bold and vigorous climber this rose needs a little love care and affection.

Tie it to wires to keep it strong when growing and trim any crossing stems in the cooler autumnal months.

Choose well-drained soil and a sunny spot – the 'Olympic Flame' enjoys a bit of sunbathing whenever possible.

Make an impact by having your rose climb your patio wall or wind around an archway for an eye-catching background.

The decorative pot is sold separately.

How to Plant

The 'Olympic Flame' rose enjoys well-drained, fresh and fertile soil. Don’t hold back from a late winter spread of mulch, followed by some organic fertiliser come summer. A sunny position is a must – this really brings out the fire in the flower.

Into the Ground

Take your spade and fork, as well as a watering can and compost to plant your rose in the ground.

  1. Hydrate your rose in its pot.
  2. Dig a hole twice the size of the rootball and loosen the ground with a fork to help the roots settle in.
  3. Carefully place the plant into the hole.
  4. Fill the hole with compost to feed the plant in its new home, watering generously.
  5. Tie any stems to supports if you want it to climb them.

Into a Pot

Grab a pot and some organic, multipurpose compost, along with a trowel and a watering can to settle this rose in a pot.

  1. Fill your chosen pot with plenty of compost.
  2. Dig a hole that's double the rootball’s size.
  3. Add your rose, together with compost and water – it should be soft and moist.
  4. Place it somewhere with lots of sunshine.
