Why We Love It
Why We Love It
This jasmine (Jasminum officinale) is anything but common.
Every summer numerous little white starry flowers appear, and yes- they're little but their scent is big and will make a bold statement on account of its perfume.
It grows well and although losing its leaves each winter it comes back each spring more and more vigorous.
How to Plant
How to Plant
Though it will cope in a shady spot of the garden it will thrive somewhere like a sunny terrace or hot border.
Into the Ground
- Give your plant a good drink of water before planting.
- Dig through the soil to loosen it.
- Make a hole twice as wide as the rootball.
- Place your plant in the hole.
- Make sure that the top of the roots are visible and level with the surface of the soil.
- Fill in the hole with soil, firming with your hands gently around the plant.
- Water well.
Into a Pot
- Find a pot at least twice the size of the plant's temporary container.
- Raise it onto pot feet to assist drainage.
- Add potting compost to the pot, filling up to about three-quarters.
- Insert your plant into the pot, lining up the top of the rootball with just under the pot's rim.
- Backfill around the roots and water well..
- Put some canes in the pot for the stems to climb up.
