Why We Love It

You'll love the flower power of Hydrangea 'Unique' when it gets going in the summer.

The flowers come up and out in tall bunches like white wizard-hats.

The magic of this reliable tall shrub is that its flowers change colour as the summer season goes on, becoming a deeper shade of pink into the autumn.

How to Plant

Plant 'Unique' in a good rich soil or compost that's bulky and dark in colour. This shows that the soil has all the nutrients the plant needs.

Into the Ground

  1. Give your plant a good drink of water before planting.
  2. Dig through the soil to loosen it.
  3. Make a hole twice as wide as the rootball.
  4. Place your plant in the hole.
  5. Make sure that the top of the roots are visible and level with the surface of the soil.
  6. Fill in the hole with soil, firming with your hands gently around the plant.
  7. Water well.

Into a Pot

  1. Find a pot at least twice the size of the plant's temporary container.
  2. Raise it onto pot feet to assist drainage.
  3. Add potting compost to the pot, filling up to about three-quarters.
  4. Insert your plant into the pot, lining up the top of the rootball with just under the pot's rim.
  5. Backfill around the roots and water well.
