Choisya dewitteana 'Goldfingers'

Time to get your shrub settled in. You'll need a trowel, compost and a watering can.

1. Mix a generous helping of compost into the soil.
2. Dig a hole double the size of the plant's rootball.
3. Gently place the shrub into the ground, making sure the top of the rootball is level with the surrounding soil.
4. Add soil, firming it down around the plant. Then, water thoroughly.
5. Your plant will need pruning after flowering in spring. Cutting back 30 cm of stems will help it to produce a second set of blooms in early autumn.

Choisya grows well in containers. Grab a pot, loam-based compost, a trowel and a watering can.

1. Fill your pot with compost.
2. Create a hole, ideally twice the size of the plant's rootball.
3. Place your 'White Dazzler' inside, fill with compost and pat it down. Water thoroughly.
4. After blooming in spring, prune back 30 cm of flowering stems – you'll be treated to another flush of flowers in autumn.
5. Be mindful in warm weather – pot-grown plants can get parched, so water twice a week.
