How to Plant
How to Plant
Amaryllis bulbs need to be planted in an area where they will receive full sun. They can grow in areas of light shade, but in full sun you can expect them to develop stronger stems and more flowers.
Into the Ground
- Plant these bulbs within 6-8 weeks of buying them.
- Use a fork to loosen the soil in your chosen spot.
- Dig some holes twice the size of the rootballs ensuring they're 12-15 cm apart from each other.
- Add the bulbs and backfill the holes so the bulbs are neck height in soil.
- Water them well.
Into a Pot
- Plant these bulbs within 6-8 weeks of receiving them.
- Use a pot just big enough to fit one Amaryllis bulb in.
- Fill it with soil and dig a hole which is shallow enough that the neck of the bulb sticks out.
- Pop your bulb in the hole and gently firm the soil.
- Water generously.
