Why We Love It

Euonymus 'Marieke' is a variegated evergreen shrub that's popular for hedging. It has broad oval leaves in glossy green which are edged with bright splashes of vivid yellow.

How to Plant

Plant 'Marieke' in all soil types with any pH level. It likes a moist, well-drained spot in full or partial sun.

Into the Ground

For this, you'll need to grab a spade, potting soil mix, a container and a watering can.

  1. Fill your pot with some potting soil mix.
  2. Make a hole double the size of the rootball and place the plant inside. Fill in the hole with the remaining soil mix.
  3. Water regularly between spring and autumn.
  4. At the beginning of spring, feed with a balanced fertiliser.
Into a Pot

For planting in the ground, make sure you wear gloves and take your compost, trowel and watering can.

  1. Water the potted plant for easier release later on.
  2. Take your trowel and dig an area twice the size of the rootball.
  3. Mix in some compost to improve drainage.
  4. Remove the pot and place the Euonymus in the hole, covering it with compost and soil.
  5. Pat down and water well until established but don't overdo it.
