Why We Love It

Bring a sense of joy to your outdoor space with the ‘Precious Gold’ rose. Its beautifully ruffled, bright gold and yellow petals will add a happy and thoroughly buoyant feel to your garden as they exude their floral flushes in the summer.

Growing to around 70 cm in height, this rose can adorn and interweave along a fence, or make itself at home by your patio. It’s easy to care for, just needing a winter prune down to 10 cm or 15 cm from the base, as well as a little mulch so it's fed plenty of nutrients.

The decorative pot is sold separately. Find the perfect base for any style of planting, explore our full range of pots here.

How to Plant

Like most roses, ‘Precious Gold’ enjoys the sun, so bear this in mind when choosing a location. If you can, use ground that hasn't had roses in it before for planting, or pick a fresh, multipurpose compost to bed it in.

Into the Ground

Pick up your spade, along with your watering can and a multipurpose compost to plant this rose into the ground.

  1. Choose a sunny location to plant your rose.
  2. Dig a planting hole double the size of the rootball.
  3. Pop a little compost into the base.
  4. Remove your plant from its pot, spreading the roots out carefully.
  5. Gently place your rose in the hole and coat it with compost.
  6. Water it in generously, so your water reaches right down to the roots.
Into a Pot

Take your pot and a trowel, then you just need a watering can and some fresh, organic compost to plant your rose into a container.

  1. Fill your pot with plenty of compost.
  2. Take your trowel and dig a hole double the rootball’s size.
  3. Spread your rose’s roots and place it inside the hole.
  4. Firm up your rose with compost.
  5. Add a liberal spray of water to bed it into its new home.
